Hill Hospitality’s roots date back to 1981 when W. David Hill became the pioneering founder of William Hill Manor, the first continuing care retirement community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This hallmark facility, located in Easton, Maryland, established an outstanding reputation in its delivery of the highest quality services though a personal commitment to excellence and provided the ultimate in retirement living and health care services.
In 2004, Dr. Hill sold William Hill Manor to the Episcopal Ministries for the Aging, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation. That same year Dr. Hill acted on his vision to launch a hotel development and management company dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in creating beautiful hotels that would consistently exceed guest expectations. In every hotel that we develop and manage, we seek a discernible, definable difference to set it apart from its competitors. We are proud of our record of success.

Hill Hospitality’s hotels have been the recipient of both Hilton and Marriott’s coveted “Connie Award” (Hilton) 6 consecutive times from 2010-2015, and the “Diamond Award” (Marriott) in 2017. Both awards are given to the few, select top-ranked hotels within the brand. Remarkably, Hampton Inn Murrells Inlet was ranked by the Hilton brand the #1 overall Hampton hotel nationwide for 5 out of 6 years.
What We Do Now
We focus on developing, owning and managing limited-service hotels associated with the Hilton and Marriott brands. The objective of our team is to ensure that each facility we manage typifies the impeccable standards that we have set for ourselves.
In developing our hotels, we believe in separating ourselves from the competition by exceeding franchise standards. A core principle is to proactively renovate and refurbish existing properties as they age to maintain our competitive edge and asset value. On the service side, we are committed to surpassing guests’ expectations.

As a result of our dedication to superior service, standards, and market share performance, our hotels consistently score in the top percentiles on Quality Assurance and Guest Loyalty Reports. And, the hotels we manage have been the recipients of multiple awards from Hilton, including the coveted “Connie Award” given to the top 6 Hampton Inns and the top 4 Hampton Inn and Suites in the Hampton Inn system and the “Lighthouse Award”, recognizing the top 5% of Hampton Inns in the system. The sole Fairfield Inn & Suites in our portfolio is also the recipient of Marriott’s prestigious “Diamond Award”, a recognition bestowed upon only 3 Fairfield Inns out of over 900 hotels in the system in 2017.
